Rationale for the Use of Radiological Investigations; Assessment of Awareness Among Healthcare Workers of a Tertiary Care Hospital in Southern Punjab

Background: During recent times, radiological investigations have been playing a very beneficial role in diagnosis, confirmation and surveillance of multiple diseases the medical science; thus increasing our diagnostic management skills positive manner which was not previously possible. Now-a-days, these become an integral part system due to their easy availability. But this availability has increased chances misuse modalities as well. This cross-sectional study aimed assess rationale for use among healthcare providers serving at Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Rahim Yar Khan. The data collected from subjects via pre-designed questionnaire January 2022 April 2022. Then analyzed through SPSS software. Results study, including 250 (56% males 44% females; 38.8% consultants 61.2% PGRs/MOs), showed that primarily decide about needed patients while senior PGR/MO play absence. Majority (90%, n=225) were found well aware radiation hazards related different investigations. Conclusion: working departments SZH,RYK enough awareness knowledge modalities; but able specify exact limitations doses per exposure or total dosage allowed year associated with harmful effects.
